2011 Southern Indiana Series Standings - 3 of 5 Events

Here are the current Southern Indiana Series Standings after 3 events. Players in yellow represent the current payout cutoff. Payout depth may increase or decrease based upon the number of participants in the remaining two events.

Due to an error on PDGA website, the standings are different in Men's Rec than what is shown above.
Michael Owen was listed as finishing 9th at Buffalo Trace but that was incorrect. The change has been made to show his actual finish of 4th place.
He is actually in 1st place overall with 874 points. There are no other differences in the Top 8. His actual standing will be reflected in the next update following Patoka Lake.

I wish my advanced division points could count for intermediate, or vice versa! The format kind of discourages moving up.

You have raised a valid point and it's something I want to look into for next year. It seems like players should at least get credit for a lower division if they move up.
That being said, I can't argue for anyone getting credit for moving back down.

Justin Marquess - Rec -> Int
Sam Hall - Rec -> Int
Judge Blevins - Rec -> Int
Daniel Allgeier - Rec -> Int -> Advanced
Michael Ohlman - Int -> Adv -> Open
Jim Reynolds - Rec -> Adv. Masters
Stephen Montgomery - Rec -> Int.

Only three players have moved back:
Jarrod Fawks - Int -> Rec (He's a rec player, only reason he played Int at Seviren was because he didn't want to play from rubber pads.)
Charlie Aubrey - Open -> Adv. (Can you blame a guy for wanting to test the waters?)
Matt Nance - Adv. -> Intermediate (Maybe this format discourages moving up, but for you, it encouraged moving down. What say you, bagger?)

Well since I have moved up I would have won all the advanced tournaments maybe I should moved back down so I can still win haha

Played advanced today at one of my home courses and got dead last...that's also discouraging, but I'm glad I went back up. I don't think I'm up there for good, though. Maybe if I do well at Patoka and/or Vettiner this year I'll consider making a permanent switch.

Next year we have to figure out a way to combine score for people who change divisions mid-season. Any suggestions?

Participation points for events played in lower divisions. You get no participation points from higher divisions if you move down.
I'm going to change the points system in 2012 so it's more uniform for events of different size.

I disagree with that, your points should stay in the division they were earned in because that would only benefit the people that have the ability to move around in divisions based on their ratings.

That's true, and I could see that happening, but I also think the current system could potentially discourage someone from wanting to move up. Either way, I don't think the series standings are the main determinant in someone's decision to move up and down. They are going to base it on their current level of play, finances, confidence, etc.
